Classic Mojito

Classic Mojito

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz (60 ml) white rum

  • 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)

  • 2 teaspoons sugar (or ½ oz simple syrup)

  • 6–8 fresh mint leaves

  • Soda water (to top)

  • Ice

  • Mint sprig & lime wedge (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Muddle
In a sturdy glass, muddle mint leaves with sugar and lime juice to release the mint oils. Don’t shred the mint—just press gently.

  2. Add rum
Pour in the white rum and give it a quick stir.

  3. Add ice
Fill the glass with ice (preferably crushed or cracked ice).

  4. Top with soda
Add soda water to taste (about 2–3 oz). Stir gently to combine.

  5. Garnish
Garnish with a sprig of mint and a lime wedge.

Tips for the Best Mojito:

  • Use fresh mint: Spearmint is traditional.

  • Chill your glass: Keeps everything crisp and refreshing.

  • Crushed ice: Adds a slushy texture and dilutes slower.
