Classic Mojito
Ingredients:
2 oz (60 ml) white rum
1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)
2 teaspoons sugar (or ½ oz simple syrup)
6–8 fresh mint leaves
Soda water (to top)
Ice
Mint sprig & lime wedge (for garnish)
Instructions:
Muddle
In a sturdy glass, muddle mint leaves with sugar and lime juice to release the mint oils. Don’t shred the mint—just press gently.Add rum
Pour in the white rum and give it a quick stir.Add ice
Fill the glass with ice (preferably crushed or cracked ice).Top with soda
Add soda water to taste (about 2–3 oz). Stir gently to combine.Garnish
Garnish with a sprig of mint and a lime wedge.
Tips for the Best Mojito:
Use fresh mint: Spearmint is traditional.
Chill your glass: Keeps everything crisp and refreshing.
Crushed ice: Adds a slushy texture and dilutes slower.
