Spiced Maple Bourbon Sour
Ingredients (per glass):
2 oz bourbon
¾ oz fresh lemon juice
½ oz pure maple syrup (the real stuff!)
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1 egg white (optional, for a silky foam)
Fresh grated cinnamon or nutmeg, for garnish
Instructions
In a cocktail shaker, add bourbon, lemon juice, maple syrup, bitters, and egg white (if using).
Shake without ice first (this is called a “dry shake”) for about 10–15 seconds to build a nice foam.
Add ice, then shake again until well chilled.
Strain into a coupe or rocks glass.
Garnish with a dusting of cinnamon or nutmeg.
Why it works:
The maple syrup gives a deep, earthy sweetness, the lemon keeps it bright, and the bourbon’s warmth carries all those autumn spice notes. The egg white (optional) adds that cozy, velvety mouthfeel.
