Spiced Maple Bourbon Sour

Ingredients (per glass):

  • 2 oz bourbon

  • ¾ oz fresh lemon juice

  • ½ oz pure maple syrup (the real stuff!)

  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

  • 1 egg white (optional, for a silky foam)

  • Fresh grated cinnamon or nutmeg, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a cocktail shaker, add bourbon, lemon juice, maple syrup, bitters, and egg white (if using).

  2. Shake without ice first (this is called a “dry shake”) for about 10–15 seconds to build a nice foam.

  3. Add ice, then shake again until well chilled.

  4. Strain into a coupe or rocks glass.

  5. Garnish with a dusting of cinnamon or nutmeg.

Why it works:
The maple syrup gives a deep, earthy sweetness, the lemon keeps it bright, and the bourbon’s warmth carries all those autumn spice notes. The egg white (optional) adds that cozy, velvety mouthfeel.
