Uma Anyar Waterfall

Located just below Sumampan Waterfall in the village of Kemenuh, Uma Anyar Waterfall is only a short ride from Ubud.

Uma Anyar Waterfall is a charming, lesser-known two-tiered waterfall nestled in Kemenuh Village, Sukawati district, Gianyar Regency, about a 20-minute drive from Ubud. Opened to the public in 2020, it flows from the Petanu River—same as nearby Sumampan—and drops around 10–15 meters across two rice-terrace-like cascades, forming a natural pool at its base.

The site offers a peaceful, local vibe rather than dramatic scenery. After a gentle 7-minute walk down from the parking area, visitors find bamboo huts, benches, toilets, and changing rooms—enough to relax but still low on commercial trappings. The entrance fee is approximately IDR 15,000–20,000 per person and is cash only.

Visitors often praise its tranquility and simplicity. One reviewer described it as having “wooden sunbeds… local people… great photo spots… refreshing but not too cold.” Another called it “a peaceful, uncrowded spot near Ubud.” The natural pool is swimmable on dry days, but swimming should be avoided right after heavy rain, as the current can become stronger and the water more turbid.

Late afternoon visits are recommended for softer lighting and fewer crowds. The site closes around 6 p.m. There’s generally good cell reception, so ride-hailing services like Grab or Gojek work well. You can get there by scooter, private car, or hired driver. The path down is easy and includes steps and handrails, making it suitable for most fitness levels. Facilities are basic but sufficient—perfect for a quiet nature break.
