adventures of a solo global traveler…
Costa Rica
Circumnavigating the globe solo with just a backpack is more than a physical journey—it’s a profound act of self-discovery. Traveling light, often with only a week’s worth of essentials, you quickly learn to let go of excess and embrace simplicity. Every day demands adaptability—navigating unfamiliar cities with offline maps, reading the rhythms of new cultures, and trusting instincts you didn’t know you had. Along the way, you find belonging in fleeting communities: a shared table in a hostel, a conversation on a train, or a kind stranger offering directions. The road brings its share of challenges—language barriers, missed connections, long nights of solitude—but each becomes an opportunity to grow more grounded, capable, and self-reliant. Days are shaped as much by mood as by map: detours taken on a whim, stays extended for sunsets or stories. And when the loop finally closes, you return not just with worn boots and a weathered passport, but with a clearer sense of self—and the deep understanding that everything you truly need can fit on your back.
