Strawberry Matcha Margarita

Ingredients (1 cocktail):

  • 2 oz blanco tequila

  • 1 oz fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)

  • ¾ oz strawberry syrup (see below)

  • ¼ oz agave nectar (or to taste)

  • ½ tsp matcha powder, whisked with 1 oz warm water

  • Ice

  • Salt or sugar for the rim (optional)

  • Strawberry slice or lime wheel for garnish

🍓 To Make Strawberry Syrup:

Simmer 1 cup chopped strawberries, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup water until berries break down (about 10 mins). Strain, cool, and refrigerate. Keeps for ~2 weeks.

Instructions:

  1. Rim your glass (optional): Rub the rim with a lime wedge and dip in salt or sugar. Set aside.

  2. Whisk the matcha: In a small bowl, whisk ½ tsp matcha with 1 oz warm water until smooth and frothy. Set aside.

  3. Shake it up: In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, lime juice, strawberry syrup, agave, and the matcha mix. Add ice and shake well (15 seconds).

  4. Strain and serve: Strain into a rocks glass or coupe over fresh ice.

  5. Garnish: Add a strawberry slice or lime wheel. Optional: sprinkle a pinch of matcha powder on top for drama.

Optional Twist:

Swap mezcal for half the tequila if you want a smoky edge.
