Named after legendary New York City hustler Owen “Owney” Madden, this rum pays tribute to a man who made his name in the shadows of Prohibition. From backing prizefighters to running speakeasies, Owney's true empire was built on bootlegging—moving rum up the East Coast with grit and charm. Inspired by his legacy, Bridget set out to craft a line of rums that honor his bold spirit with every pour.

Bridget Firtle is a born-and-raised New Yorker, descended from generations of Brooklyn small business owners. She grew up in Rockaway Beach, Queens, in a home where the basement once served as a lively speakeasy—proof that the craft and culture of spirits was in her blood from the start.

In 2012, driven by a passion for history and a bold vision to revive rum distilling in New York City, Bridget left behind a career on Wall Street to launch The Noble Experiment—the city's first exclusive rum distillery in nearly a century. After years of planning, building, and perfecting her recipe through trial and error, she was ready. With the help of friends, family, a four-spout bottler, and a batch of stick-on labels, she hit the streets—door to door—sharing Owney’s Rum and building a brand one bottle at a time.
