Two years after her first major sale, Joyce Rey reached a defining milestone in her career: assisting legendary acting coach Lee Strasberg in purchasing a home in Brentwood. The transaction marked the beginning of her rise to prominence in the luxury real estate world. Her reputation for hands-on service, sharp negotiation skills, and composed professionalism quickly began to solidify.

Throughout the 1970s, Rey orchestrated several high-profile deals, including multiple sales of the iconic Owlwood and Pickfair estates. Among Owlwood’s notable owners were music icons Sonny and Cher. In 1978, she brokered the estate’s sale for $4.2 million—a record-breaking price at the time. A year later, she facilitated the sale of Pickfair to Jerry Buss, the late owner of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Following this string of landmark achievements, Rey joined forces with prominent Beverly Hills realtor Harleigh Sandler in 1979 to establish Rodeo Realty, widely recognized as the first real estate firm in the United States to focus exclusively on multimillion-dollar properties.

Since then, Joyce Rey has never looked back. She has continued to break sales records, represent A-list celebrities and global elites, and establish herself as one of the most accomplished and sought-after luxury real estate professionals in Los Angeles.
